As an effort to support Oregon K-12 audiences amidst the COVID-19 health crisis, OSU Precollege Programs align with the Oregon Department of Education's new 2020-21 Comprehensive Distance Learning Guidance by designing and offering distance learning opportunities for our K-12 audiences, professional development for teachers, and sharing various educational sources to support youth activities and continued learning at home.

Upcoming Event: Virtual SMILE Teacher Workshop (August 3-5, 2020)

SMILE Virtual Teacher Workshop

For over 30 years, the SMILE Program has offered professional development for K-12 educators through workshops held two-three times a year. Lessons and supplies are provided free to each participant and cover STEM content based on curricular materials developed by Precollege Programs broader impacts professionals in collaboration with researchers and partners. This August, PCP  and SMILE will offer its first virtual teacher workshop, sharing further STEM curriculum and providing a virtual networking space for teachers to continue building community and discuss distance learning in their school districts.
