Description
The purpose of the Migrant Student Leadership Institute is to build leadership skills in Oregon migrant students as well as to expose them to college life and encourage students to attend college, which for many of the migrant students, represent the first ones in their families to attend college. Also, students are encouraged to promote their leadership and self-esteem, but also to concentrate on giving and choosing a service project back in their communities.
