Summit Awards

Submit a Nomination by 9/2/24

Award Criteria

Excellence in youth care and education, including efforts impacting cradle to 12th grade and educator/program staff development. Award recipient(s) are implementing impactful activities, developing authentic partnerships, and creating an environment that supports youth thriving and/or fosters inclusive learning.

  • Selection criteria #1: Community Engagement and Partnerships. Award recipient(s) conduct impactful youth care and education and/or educator/program staff development while building, sustaining and celebrating partnerships that make a difference for the communities we serve.
  • Selection criteria #2: DEIA  (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access). Award recipient(s) demonstrate commitment and actions towards fostering DEIA in youth care and education and/or educator/program staff development.
  • Selection criteria #3:  Innovation in Education. Award recipient(s) have innovated in their respective domains resulting in significant positive impacts for youth learners, educators and/or their communities.

Eligibility

  • Any individual, a team, or organization that primarily works within youth care and education and/or educator/program staff development, demonstrating excellence as described above. 
  • Any individual, a team, or organization that partners with entities that primarily work within youth care and education and/or educator/program staff development, contributing to the impact of education programs, activities and opportunities. 
  • Awardees may be internal or external to OSU but  must be located or serving primarily Oregon’s youth and educators/program staff.
  • Candidates can self-nominate. 

 

Categories

  • Up to 8 awards will be made annually following the categories described below. These 4 categories are the same but slightly modified for internal vs external awards. 
     

OSU Internal Youth Impact Awards - Nomination Deadline 09/02/2024

The "Youth Impact Individual Award" will go to OSU individuals (Faculty or Staff ), from any OSU division, who are working within OSU’s youth care and education and educator/program staff development programs, and who demonstrate excellence in one or more of the criteria listed above (Community engagement and partnerships, DEIA, and Innovation).

The "Youth Impact Team Award" will go to OSU teams or organizations, from any OSU division, who are implementing  youth care and education and educator/program staff  development programs, and who demonstrate excellence in one or more of the criteria listed above (Community engagement and partnerships, DEIA, and Innovation).

The "Youth Impact Star Award" will go to any OSU student in work or seasonal appointments OR volunteers working in support of  OSU youth care and education and educator/program staff development programs, and helping advance one or more of the criteria listed above (Community engagement and partnerships, DEIA, and Innovation).

The "Youth Impact Champion Award" will go to OSU individuals or teams who are not primarily youth program professionals but are partners supporting OSU teams or organizations and contributing to their success implementing youth care and education and educator/program staff  development programs (e.g., research faculty partnering for broader impacts; administration or classified staff creating opportunities for funding or programming; student organizations supporting youth education, outreach and engagement. etc.).

OSU External Youth Impact Awards - Nomination Deadline 09/02/2024

The "Youth Impact Partner Individual Award" will go to individuals external to OSU who are involved in any state program or organization implementing youth care and education and educator/program staff development activities, and who demonstrate excellence in one or more of the criteria listed above (Community engagement and partnerships, DEIA, and Innovation)

The "Youth Impact Partner Team Award" will go to any external teams or organizations in Oregon who are implementing  youth care and education and educator/program staff development programs, and who demonstrate excellence in one or more of the criteria listed above (Community engagement and partnerships, DEIA, and Innovation).

The "Youth Impact Partner Star Award" will go to any individuals external to OSU working in seasonal appointments OR volunteers for youth care and education and educator/program staff development programs across the State , and helping advance one or more of the criteria listed above (Community engagement and partnerships, DEIB, and Innovation).

The "Youth Impact Champion Partner Award" will go to external individuals or teams who are not primarily youth program professionals but are partners supporting  teams or organizations across the State, and contributing to their success implementing youth care and education and educator/program staff development programs (e.g., community leaders or community based organizations supporting youth education; individuals or groups supporting funding for programs; partners collaborating to support youth education, outreach and engagement. etc.).
