  • Juntos
    Juntos (meaning "together" in Spanish) works to empower families around education. Uniting with community partners to provide culturally relevant programming for 8-12th grade students and their parents, Juntos is designed to provide families with knowledge, skills, and resources to prevent youth from dropping out of high school, and to encourage families to work together to gain access to college.
  • JumpstART: Precollege Visual & Performing Arts Program
    JumpstArt emphasizes skill development and conceptual growth through exposure to accelerated art, music and theater instruction with visiting artists and faculty mentors. Students work in art, design, music, and theater labs, attend evening presentations by guest lecturers and artists, and participate in multi-disciplined events. This is a one week camp with a residential option.
  • Inner City Youth Institute
    A collaborative partnership of the Forest Service, Pacific Northwest Research Station, Bureau of Land Management, and OSU 4-H Youth Development. Through school year activities based in Portland, and summer programs at the Salem 4-H Center and OSU campus, the Inner City Youth Institute encourages Portland youth to explore higher education and careers in the natural sciences.   • High School Journalism Institute
    Co-hosted by OSU and The Oregonian, this camp seeks to nurture budding journalists underrepresented in the field. With guidance from professionals in the field, participants use real journalism skills to report and photograph a 32-page newspaper, as well as blog and produce multimedia pieces for The Oregonian's website. They will learn the value of making a difference by covering multiple perspectives in the news. On hiatus for Summer 2021 because of COVID.
  • GEAR UP Summer Programs
    GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federal program that promotes college readiness for low-income students in rural locations. OSU partners with the Sweet Home GEAR UP cluster to provide annual summer camps that integrate science and engineering project-based activities, reinforce college planning curriculum and provide an inspiring on-campus experience to students.
  • Expeditions
    A half-day educational experience in which gifted and talented youth are introduced to a variety of engaging, intriguing subjects in an enjoyable and nurturing environment.
  • Environmental Health Sciences Center (EHSC) Community Outreach and Education Core (COEC)
    COEP’s community outreach mission is to translate the research findings of the EHS Center into outreach programs that are useful and relevant to the public. Additionally, COEP’s education mission is to promote health and science literacy by improving understanding of environmental health science and the role of environmental factors in the cause and prevention of disease.   • Diversity & Cultural Engagement Outreach
    The primary foci of the American Indian Initiatives, Asian & Pacific Islander American Student Services, Casa Latina/o de OSU, and the Ujima Education Office is the access and retention of traditionally underrepresented students at Oregon State University. ISS performs culturally sensitive and specific outreach and recruitment to underrepresented precollege students who represent 100% of our target ethnic communities
  • Discovery Days
    Discovery Days is an outreach program involving many of the Science Departments at OSU as well as departments from Agriculture and Engineering. This two-day event, held in both the Fall and Spring terms, features displays and hands-on activities from different departments that are suitable for all ages.
  • Discovering the Scientist Within
    A free Saturday workshop designed to introduce middle school girls to careers in science, technology and engineering. The workshop includes hands-on activities and the opportunity to meet successful women engineers, doctors, veterinarians, research scientists, and university professors.
